Municipal Corporation of Vijayawada recognized the services of the sisters of St. Ann in health care apostolate and honoured Mother Elizabeth Affentranger, our Pioneer by constructing the bridge over Bandar canal and inaugurating it after her name – “Mother Elizabeth Affentranger Bridge”.
Golden jubilee of our hospital was celebrated. Function was held at ThummalapalliKalashethram, Municipal auditorium Vijayawada to share our joy with our patients, benefactors and citizens of Vijayawada. The Mayor of Municipal Corporation read a citation in honour of Mother Elizabeth Affentranger. Rs. 25,000 was given to a poor family to procure land to make a house and some poor girls were given financial assistance to settle their marriage as a golden jubilee memorial gift.
Dr. Sr. Marietta the Medical Superintendent was elected as the President of Catholic Hospital Association of India (CHAI)
