HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Mother Elizabeth Affentranger and other pioneers who came to India in 1927 worked in government head quarters Hospital at machilipatnam for more than a decade. Recognizing the dedicated and committed service, the Government requested the Sisters to start a hospital in Vijayawada as there was no other hospital in Vijayawada except the government Hospital. Studying the signs of the time and its situations Sisters of St.Ann came forward with a proposal to begin a small clinic. As far as finance was concerned, they had very little of it, but the Divine providence came to their help through various well-wishers and benefactors of the locality and sisters were able to construct a hospital with 40 beds in 1940.As the years passed by, people acknowledged our service and began flocking. This was the felt need to extend our service and to start various departments in course of time. Today it stands erect under God’s mantle, “healing to reveal the Healer”.
